  1. I think the strongest cover is the second, those black and white images are really interesting. Also for the first & third design the front cover is interesting, but I think the back cover should be of a different definition of intimacy than what's on the front, I think it might make them more interesting. Also, the font choice and placement works very well, the only one that's a little hard to read is on the last cover the font at the bottom would be easier to read if it were also in black.

  2. The second cover set is the strongest, probably because of the black and white, but the photo choices work really well with the theme as well. The third cover set could be just as strong if it had a different back cover, that image doesn't really fit the theme as well as the other images.

  3. Oh the second one is the best hands down. The black and white is soft, the images, although different go very well together without being obviously connected in act. I really like the font as well it's elegant and I think intimacy when looking at the cover.

  4. I also favor the second design. I'm not sure I want to be led into thinking it was pictures of people making love, but to me what would make it really strong is to crop the holding hands close enough to let them run off the page to let the viewer wonder a little bit. That's what I like about the first one. It leaves you hanging. Your not sure if it's going to be a self help book, or what. The picture is still great, but not quite the same concept I think. So, the second one for me, but I'd favor it even more if I couldn't see the couple in the background until I looked through it. I also love the contrast between the front and back photos. It gives a great valley in which to put all kinds of intimacy.

  5. The second cover is the best, the third is a close second, but the black and white of the second one mixed with the clenched hands on the cover is a good preview of the material you will have inside, the book cover looks very interesting.

  6. the second and third covers are the strongest covers for me. However, I'm really into the third one. The script font is appropriate for the subject matter because its always the font we see when we think of love or intimacy. Although, I love the third cover, I wish you would replace the front cover picture with another one at the bottom. You have some much stronger pictures down there so I think you should change them around and see what you can come up with...just a suggestion...:)

  7. I like all three but I think the second is the strongest cause the subject matter has been changed up on front and back. The font is cool looking handwritten which comes off mighty fine with your concept, but with the same subject matter on both front and back with the font combined I hate to go the perv route but dude, yeah. Just sayin, as a perv... But switch em up and presto changepurse, you got something spicy.

  8. I like the last two the best..but I think I'm liking the last one best..just because it's not typical "intimacy" and I kind of think that's what your going for. It makes you want to open the book to see what other not typical intimate moments you can see. Only issue is that it's hard to see the gray text in it.

  9. The font is very off. It looks like some intimate treasures font. The last two covers are quite intimate. Just saturate a little more. And change your font. And you're golden.

  10. Agree with Drew all the way. I prefer the third one though for picture choice.

  11. the only problem i have is the dullness of the photos and the type choice. to brighten these bad boys up open up photoshop and click edit then mess with the "LEVELS" and "VIBRANCE" thats my little quick trick for editing my photos. i always found cursive fonts to never fit for cover fonts. as far as composition and photo choice, i vote number 3!

  12. I prefer the second design, I don't think that gratuitus nudity is required just because one is trying to define intimacy. Almost too cliche, but the imagery in the second one is very nice. I appreciate the imagery in the 3rd design, nice composition and lighting. I think you're headed in the right direction! See where it takes you!

  13. First of all this set of photographs are amazing. Thats a great location and your subject reminds me of the sirens from O Brother Where Art Thou? As far as the books I really like the middle one and the last. The middle definitely gives me a clue as to what the book is going to be about and the back is an interesting photo I can see on the back of a book. The third is awesome too because again it reminds me of those sirens!

  14. I think the second one is also the strongest. You can also have the back cover just be black or white or images from that same series. Do not be afraid to blow things up.

  15. 3rd set is superior imagery in almost every way; she looks a bit wistful, though, as if it's intimacy lost. Which, technically, still does fit the goal, but I think it'd be better if she had someone or something to interact with rather than a severely out-of-place looking washcloth. Her body is fantastic and her beauty immediately apparent, but maybe the sunshine was a bit too bright? Greyscale might better serve this series of photos, as well as a little less contrast and gamma? I don't know!

I'm not a photographer by any means nor do I pretend to be, I only know what appeals to me personally, and the 3rd proposed set definitely appeals to me. I think the back picture could be better, though (one of the others from the same set?), and again have to address the other poster's concerns about the font. It might fit the subject matter, but I don't think it fits the format, the platform, or the accompanying picture too well... perhaps if it were normal, flat text for "Defining" and then italics for "Intimacy," and then back to normal, flat text for the rest of it. With some sort of outline, to make it pop, preferably.

I can't say I'm a fan of the 2nd set. At first, second, and third glance(s) I was convinced it was two guys, not that there's anything wrong with that (or that it is any less deserving of the title of intimacy), just perhaps that it'd steer some people away from it, and maybe set the state for all sorts of misunderstandings and disappointment/relief for those who open the book up.

Although the clasped hands make sense (especially in the context), it's just not too visually appealing.

The first... I really have nothing to say about it. I don't think it fits the subject at all, and I don't particularly care for the way it looks. Sorry... :(

  16. The first, is dreamy, calm and nice.
I love the second, to me it appeals the most.
I favor the third set as well, sure it was very bright, but that's what i like of it the most, that's how it was that day. natural light.
    i choose #2!
